Recovery Journal
Went to the 10:30AM Sunday OA meeting and it was awesome. I counted at 10:45 and there were 40 people there, 1/4 to 1/3 men. And some of the women who showed up looked very fine indeed - they had definitely dressed to impress someone. The theme of the meeting was 'What's working about your program?' and of course everyone who spoke had some variation of working the steps, reading the big book, get a sponsor, etc. All the things I know about from AA, but have been unable/unwilling to do in OA. Guess it's about time for me to get a sponsor. I saw a man in the meeting that I know from AA (who has more time than me and whose program I respect a lot), so my game plan is to call him tonight and see if he will help me work the steps around food. I always thought I could do OA work in AA (as the saying goes,'How's that working out for you?'), but I am now willing to surrender.
