So the past eight days have been rather exciting for me. Here is a day-by-day report on my vacation, etc:
Sat, May 27th - Drove to Macon and picked up Robert. Hung out in the city (we went to a cemetary to visit famous dead people and then ate at a hot dog place not unlike the Varsity). Met Robert's 12 y/o girlfriend and also met up with Corey and his girly. Then we drove the rest of the way to Destin and didn't do much that night.
Sun, May 28th - Went to the beach for about four hours. Reapplied sunscreen twice but still got toasted and had to stay out of the sun for the next couple days as a result.
Mon, May 29th - Stayed inside, watched a lot of tv... I think a Braves game and numerous episodes of Friends/Seinfeld. Plus Food Network. Went out to eat lunch.
Tues, May 30th - Meh, I don't remember... stayed inside most of the day, then went looking for fiddler crabs at the beach. Didn't find any small crabs, but ended up discovering palm of your hand-sized crabs burrowed under the sand where the waves were breaking. We caught eight of those with the intention of eating them but later decided there probably wasn't enough meat on them.
Wed, May 31st - Rode jetskis and hung out in the shade under a bridge on the beach... Found more crabs, helped my bro and his friend build structures out of sand. Fished on the beach with my dad. Walked on the beach at night with Robert and talked about Jeff Mangum.
Thurs, June 1st - Robert and my dad went deep sea fishing and came back with very little. Apparently most of the fish they caught were either too big or too small to keep. I took my brother and his friend to eat lunch and then on this dolphin snorkeling cruise thang. It wasn't bad. Cute guy on the boat was dissing the Braves so I had to get up in his face for a heated debate.
Fri, June 2nd - Left early to drive home. Robert got us a little lost and I barely made it back to ATL by 7 for the Braves game. Met Nate and his friends at Turner Field, drank beer and waited three hours in the rain and then they called off the game. I drove drunk to Nate's place where we drank further and smoked.
Sat, June 3rd - Nate got up early to help his friend move and we got to the rescheduled baseball game kinda late. It was hot, I think I got even more sunburned. Braves lost. Went to eat, then back to Nate's. Watched a ridiculous made for tv movie from the 80's about nuclear war. Listened to the second baseball game on the radio, took a nap. Braves fucking lost again. Some of Nate's friends came over to his apartment around 11pm and we organized our shit for a vigil for Daechuri farmers in Korea. We had posters and made lamps out of styrofoam cups and big candles. Martha Stewart would have been so proud. We set up outside the Korean consulate and were soon kicked out by incompetant security guards who tried to tell us that the sidewalk was private property. Nate put them in their place, but then we left anyway and went to Waffle House. Back to Nate's for more drinking and smoking and talking about fascism and music. Everyone left and we went to sleep around 5 am.
Sunday, June 4th - Angry phone call from mom at 11 am demanding I come home immediately despite my pleading for more sleep. Came home, checked my 57 e-mails and Myspace comments and such, then fell asleep for 4 hours.
Now - Been up all night, bored. Someone should hang out with me tomorrow. I'm trying to make a mixed cd but my computer keeps dying and it's frustrating.
I've been listening to weird music lately. I guess some of it could be described as jazzy French lounge-type stuff? But it's not in French, just English with a French accent. And then there's also German and French techno and obscure 80's shit. And underground hip hop. Of course, there's always a good bit of indie rock mixed in there too, but my tastes are definitely broadening.
I think I like him more than he likes me. Isn't that always the case?
