Day 55, late morning; Jumper Bay; Attn: Adam, Enid, John, Kate, others (F)
Sergeant Kelly Bowen had been kept apprised of the situation in the jumper bay, even as he and his squad tried to reach it in time to help. They had just gotten into the transporter, his finger headed for the spot on the map for the jumper bay, when Grodin called to inform him that Ford had escaped through the gate. He ran a hand over his close-shaved hair and sighed. "Dammit!"
"What?" the German guy whose name he could never pronounce asked.
"We lost him through the gate."
"What do we do now?"
Kelly considered. "I guess we go to the jumper bay anyway. They might get coordinates that we could follow." He hit the map.
The doors opened onto the short bit of corridor that led to the jumper bay and Kelly took in the crumpled figure in blue and khaki on the floor. He stepped out quickly, yelling down the hall into the bay. "Hey, we've got someone down out here." He hit his earbud. "Doctor Grodin, call for a med team to the jumper bay corridor. We've got someone injured here, presumably taken out by Ford. We might want to run some sort of radio check-in, make sure there's no one else down. You know, in your copious free time."
He knelt next to the woman, not moving her, just in case. He thought he'd seen her around, fixing things, while he was on patrol, but he didn't know her name. She looked Middle-Eastern and he remembered her flag patch hadn't been one he'd known. He thought maybe she was stirring. "Hey, lay still, okay?"
