Day 55, late morning; Infirmary; Attn: Carson, others [F]
Jack glanced at his watch and closed down the video player. He just didn't have the attention span today. It was still a bit early, but he was hungry and Carson had called and said he was back from the Mainland so he could plan on lunch. If he needed to hang out in Carson's office for a few minutes, it was better than being bored here.
He headed out, stepping into the transporter near his room and stepping into the corridor just outside the infirmary. Carson wasn't in the main room, nor was he in his office. "Excuse me, do you know where Doctor Beckett is?" Jack asked the nurse.
"Oh. He was doing rounds, I think," she answered. "Or he might be in the lab."
Jack wasn't about to interrupt Carson's rounds, so he headed toward the lab, poking his head in and frowning when he saw the refrigerator hanging open, a set of keys hanging from the lock. A sense of unease settled on him and Jack headed out into the main area again. "There's a fridge open in the lab. The locked one with the keys still in it."
The nurse looked alarmed and checked her pocket, coming up with a set of keys.
"Where was he going first?" Jack asked.
"Probably either Ford's or Lorne's room."
Jack nodded. "Which one's Ford's? I'll check it and you check Lorne's." Jack followed where she pointed, quickly stepped into the room. It took him a second to realise he'd stepped past a heap on the floor. He turned to find it was Carson. "Hey, he's in here!" he yelled, dropping to his knees.
