It seemed foolish, but Radek was loath to give up Selen's hand as they left the infirmary and headed down the corridor to the transporter that would take them to Carson and Rodney's room. He'd had to when he'd donned the robe Carson had given him, so that he could have some modicum of dignity as he made his way to where his clothes were, but he'd taken Selen's hand again the minute his hand was through the sleeve. It was strange and worrisome to feel so... clingy, but holding on to Selen's hand seemed to calm him. He felt less afraid.

It did nothing, alas, for the humiliation he felt when Sergeant Springour went ahead of them to operate the transporter, insisting that Radek keep his hands where he could see them the whole time they were in transit. The man was quite polite, almost seeming apologetic about it, but it didn't change the facts. Radek stood back as they approached the door to Carson's quarters too, and kept his hands were they could be seen as they entered. He wasn't going to make the man ask him twice.
