The other man appeared distracted and that aroused concern in Carson. He did notice that Sheppard was writing something. He moved closer to the bed and asked, “So what are you working on there lad? Anything I can help you with?”
John waved the napkin. "To-do list. I keep thinking of all these things I want to do, so I thought if I got them written down I could stop worrying about remembering them all and could sleep."
Helping Sheppard would certainly take his mind off his own worries. He pulled in a chair and settled himself in. “Well then, I can certainly help you with that.” He was bound and determined to something right today. With an open and interested expression he said, “Don’t be shy Major, tell me what’s on your list.”
"Oh, it's not so much the doing them that has me up as the trying to remember I need to do them, if that makes sense," John answered with a shrug. "But, sure, have a go." He handed the napkin over.
