Day 50 - Early Morning (6am) - Infirmary - ATTN: Chuck, Traan others if they wander by (F)
Calvin had overslept. He had meant to be in the Infirmary at 5am to check on Chuck. Traan, who was constantly by the man's side had taken to sleeping in the small bed with Chuck, and Kav just stood where the curtain was open around the closed off area and watched.
Chuck would snuffle in his sleep, and Traan would shift his arm, lifting it until Chuck settled back down, then lower it carefully.
It made him ache with want to go over and join them in the bed, resting, holding, comforting each other.
But if Kav did join them on the bed, it would be too small, and he had the comical image of the bed collapsing under the combined weight of them.
Instead, he went and sat on his chair beside the bed where Chuck was.
Kav hoped that Dr Beckett would release Chuck soon. It had been so long since he'd slept with both his lovers in their room.
He rested his chin on the side of the bed and took off his glasses. He was ready for the day, already dressed and showered, anxious of the simulations he'd run the day before.
But still, he pushed it aside and caressed Chuck's stubbled jaw with one finger gently, over and over, eyes moving about the sleeping face, taking in every detail, giving him strength to face the day. The same thing he did every morning, even if Chuck wasn't awake until long after he'd left.
