Day 8, Evening, Parrish's Quarters, Attn: Dumais

Jun 30, 2007 00:52

It had been an interesting day. After managing to move what they could only guess to be the descendant of a plant species they only knew about through the fossil record, Ridley had caught lunch with Suzanne, where they had gotten a few words out around bites of food. Ridley had been starving, having lost anything remotely resembling breakfast while at the firing range. He'd had to watch that he didn't make himself sick with too much food.

Afterward, he spent some time studying their latest find and the blue strawberries Sergeant Fields had brought back from his latest mission. He'd smiled when the chemical analysis of the berries came through and immediately went and potted their plants. He'd left Mateo in charge of spore-gathering from the dead sigillarioid as they had nicknamed it. It seemed a cruel thing to do, but Mateo had remarkable, almost frightening focus when he wanted.

He straightened up, stretching, and hit his radio. "Parrish to Dumais. Are you ready for dinner?"
