Thank you very much! :) I don't often get the urge to write up John's exploits but these two were very strong, lasting themes, for obvious reasons. There's a nightmare one somewhere, too, but it's a bit ott in a Lovecraftian sort of way. I need to work on some more background, the recuperative period with Rodney and the other nightmares. It's not nearly as much a proper 'story' as with the other things I write, it's more a sort of tableau of emotive events in my muse's life. This story (the alien capture and torture) overlaps with his 'real' life in the castle, because I abandoned the dungeon before it had finished playing out so nobody knows what the aliens' intent was! It might come up in the future, who knows... But for now, poor John is left to deal with his experiences as best he can, with Rodney and his twins to help. And understandably, he'd rather I worked on the other fics, which aren't nearly as dark.
Although we think it will help him to 'talk' about what happened in this way. We don't have a resident psychologist, unfortunately, because Fledge never took to Kate Heightmeyer. But it's about the only way Rodney and I get to hear about what's going on in his head. It's very distressing but he *is* making a lot of progress; I'm extremely proud of him. He's been through so much that I don't even dare contemplate.
