Why is it when you’re in a hurry, your button pops off? Okay, never mind, it wasn’t important. No one was going to notice that his shirt was gaping mid-morning, right? Sure it was fine earlier during inspection, but it could’ve fallen off from anything.
The commlink chirped again. “Colonel Sheppard?”
He inhaled sharply, pressed his talk button. “Yeah, Lorne, I’ll be right there.”
Tossing aside the offending button, John paused before exiting the supply closet, smiling as he caught a glimpse of Rodney’s back before the scientist disappeared into his lab.
Some inconveniences were worth it.
