WHAT IS ATLA_LAND?
ATLA_LAND is a challenge community inspired by many other land-based challenge communities out there, like hpland, jjverse, xoverland, etc.. There are four teams: Team Air nomads, Team Earth Kingdom, Team Fire Nation, and Team Water Tribes. Once sorted onto a team you begin competing in different challenges - some art based, fic based, trivia based, luck based, etc.
I JOINED, NOW WHAT DO I DO?
After applying for a team and accepting the invite to your team's community take a moment to browse your team's community. Should there be an introduction post, introduce yourself to your team. If you're ready to join in on challenges right away, head over to spiritlibrary to see what challenges are currently running.
While not required, it is a good idea to track ATLA_LAND and/or your team community so you are able to be notified via e-mail when a new post goes up.
WHAT SORT OF CHALLENGES WILL BE HERE?
Writing - anything from drabbles, haikus, poems and longer stories.
Quick-Solve - jigsaws, wordsearches and so on
Graphics - icons, wallpapers, posters
Creative mixes - picspams or fanmixes
Team Challenges - working together with your team
HOW DO I ENTER A CHALLENGE?
To enter a challenge, unless otherwise directed (directions are always provided with each challenge) leave a comment with your entry at the Challenge Post. Often, comments are screened so you may not see any other entries.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF ME?
You are encouraged to enter any and all challenges you can. At the bare minimum though, you should enter at least one challenge every two weeks. Should you be inactive for this period of time (you will receive a PM prior) you will be removed from your team's community. You are more than welcome to re-apply however once you have more free time on your hands.
WHAT ARE TAG BANNERS?
Once you're placed on a team you are encouraged to make a signature banner, or request someone on your team to make one for you. The maximum size is 300x150 and must include your team name as well as your name or username.
Tag banners may be used in every challenge unless otherwise stated as you receive an extra point every time you use it. However, it must be posted the first time and not edited in after.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A PARTICULAR CHALLENGE?
At the first comment to every challenge, we always leave a Questions thread. Ask any questions there and we will get back to you within a day. If your question is time sensitive, please see the next topic...
HOW DO I GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU IF I HAVE A GENERAL QUESTION/PROBLEM/SUGGESTION/NEED YOUR HELP ASAP?
If you have a General Question or Problem, please leave a comment at the Page a Mod post. Your comment will be screened in case your comment is sensitive. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
AM I ALLOWED TO POST AT ATLA_LAND? HOW ABOUT IN MY TEAM'S COMMUNITY?
The only person who may post at hp_land are the community maintainers, otaku_geisha and lady_supernova. However, anyone can post at your team's community - in fact, we welcome it! If you feel like a reminder should go up, or if you have fandom-related news, or if you want to share something, etc., go right ahead!
I AM NOT THE BEST WRITER / GRAPHICS PERSON. DOES THAT MATTER?
Not at all! While there is occasionally voting, participation is what's most important! It's the effort that counts most, so jump right in! You'll find most people here are just "winging it" :)
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE TO LEAVE THE COMPETITION OR GO ON HIATUS?
Should you have to leave the competition for any reason please send a PM to your team leader. If you leave you are free to rejoin at anytime, although you might have to wait to get back on your team if it is full.
WHAT'S kyoshi_island?
kyoshi_island is a social community that was made up for the members of atla_land. Members are able to mingle with each other. Occasionally there may be challenges in which you are to post your entries as a new post to that community versus via comments as is usual. You will be invited to join kyoshi_island when you are accepted to the community.
