First of all: <3, <3, and more <3. OMGCeles. I love how Locke is "the treasure hunter" -- as if she's scared to call him by his name, scared to let him close, and yet she does call him by his preferred epithet rather than 'thief'. I love the little details Celes chooses to take note of, even if they are 'useless'.

Comments, one small edit, suggestions (aka invitation to meta at me lots):

She can hear each noise the other prisoners make. - This sentence stands out as very general, whereas every fact that preceded it was a very specific detail. Maybe elaboration on the noises, or an example?

She is the highest-ranking traitor in all Gestahl's long reign, and she sits in her cell and waits for him to kill her. Um ouch this line KILLS ME. ♥

It has also provided her with the opportunity to hone certain of the gifts from her infusion: she had always recognized that her senses were sharper than most, but had had little opportunity to hone that ability. - I am your repeat phrasings XD

Re: Esper attack: She smelled smoke and overheated metal - would Celes 'feel' any of the Esper magic at all? Would she sense the Espers themselves? (Meta ahoy!)

Re: Leo: She can scent other things on the soldier as well: fresh air, leather and steel ...does she recognize him? Recognize his scent? Is it familiar to her?

The light, quick footsteps would be Terra's, then. - Can she sense Terra's magic at all?

Of course it would be the treasure hunter. - I love this whole paragraph, as Celes filters out who is isn't, as if she's both hoping and fearing that it would be Locke.

This entire village reeks of magic. - I like that she can sense the Thamasans and their magic. I mostly wonder why she doesn't pick up on magic in others. Is it because Thamasa carries human magic, not Esper magic? But Celes herself carries Esper magic, so... how far do her senses go in this case? (Again, meta, go!)

Um. You make an excellent point about her not sensing Terra's magic; I will fix this in the edit/redux/whatever. And you are totally not the only person to catch the traitor line XD I will tl;dr at you further in email.
