Even as she walked away, he still couldn't believe that she was really going to leave. She was just angry, she'd come back. It had been stupid of him to remark on how that noblewoman had been showcasing her impressive attributes, but he'd meant it as a joke, and he wasn't sure why she didn't understand that. Her cryptic response, "The summoned creatures understand me better than you do, and I've been here for two years," hadn't really clarified anything either.
It wasn't until he watched her chocobo race away that he realized she'd meant it when she said goodbye.
