Teyla opened her eyes and noticed with some curiosity that her room had turned into a verdant field, her bed a luxurious and springy moss underneath a bower of verdant branches. The field was riddled with wildflowers, the likes of which she had never seen before, the brilliant reds exploding outwards from a black center and filling the air with a ( Read more... )

She barely heard him as he spoke, his arrival not even registering on her radar. The sound of his voice grated on her nerves was all at once a soothing balm. She closed her eyes and swallowed hard, trying to remember how to speak.

Finally, after along moment, she turned her head a fraction and blinked up at him through the tears. "C-carson?" she whispered, the sound barely perceptible and only audible due to the insane quietness of the night-time version of the infirmary.

She also managed to get a single head-shake in, an answer of sorts to his question.

She shifted a little, leaning into his touch, and nodded lightly. Haltingly, she told him of her dream, ending with her tale of throwing up and the connection she made to how she had felt in regards to the enzyme.

Then, with a shaky hand, she pointed at the cabinet. "We are all out," she said sadly, referring to the enzyme.

"I-I do not know," she said, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. She sniffled and sat up carefully, gravitating to Carson and the solid warmth of another, very real, human body.

"He may have been trying, though never have I dreamed of him so vividly." Her voice was still raspy from the crying and the throwing up. "I know he has told me he has tried in the past, when we first became lovers, but again, this has never happened, nor can I explain the second half of the dream."

She put a hand to hear head in a vain attempt to stop the throbbing, and willed her hand to stop shaking as it moved.

"Then how will I....how will we...?" she swallowed hard again, the implications giving her a blazing headache. "So either we must part forever, or I must leave Atlantis," concluded sadly.

Her eyes searched his face wildly, looking for confirmation and the veracity of his conviction. She must have found something to assuage her fears, for she managed a shaky smile.

"If there is anything I can do...I will come with you..."

She nods, thankful that she and John had spoken previously. "Yes. He and I spoke...he is aware of Michael and myself."

"Which ever you think is best, though I don't think I should go far in my condition."

She was certain that her shivering would resume in full-force once Carson left her side. If she were to speak to Sheppard, it would have to be in the infirmary.

She nodded as much as her headache would allow her. "Even still, I think it best that I stay here, at least until the symptoms begin to subside again."

If they would subside again.
