Hello everyone!
Recently life has been feeling both overly-busy (seems to be normal . . . maybe I just need to figure out how to make the amount of activity there usually is feel less chaotic) and very rich. In the past couple weeks, I have moved to a new space at Lost Valley (more apartment-style, and I have a lovely housemate, Meghan) and had a fun housewarming party, been hired (to do much of the same work I’ve been doing for Lost Valley, but also get involved more deeply in certain aspects of the programs, like curriculum development of both new and existing programs, and budgeting), started working with the new director of the programs here, experienced the elections!!!, learned lots and lots of new and wonderful rounds, gotten a keyboard, contra danced to the music of Wild Asparagus (I’d been waiting to hear them for years, and I enjoyed them so much that I’m going up to Corvallis tomorrow to dance to them again), and visited Mark up in Corvallis (it was lovely touring a bit of the OSU campus, meeting Mark’s housemates-all grad students at OSU in various scientific fields deeply related to permaculture, talking and singing late into the night, and in the morning visiting Corvallis Cohousing, a fabulous farmers’ market, and one of the city’s co-ops). Not to mention many wonderful conversations with people at Lost Valley, beautiful fall foliage and skies and flocks of birds and scents and flavors, and surprises about the world and myself.
