Reversible Centennial Polo Shirt
This year we celebrate the hundredth anniversary of our team’s sporting the red and white kit for the first time. It happened in Irun, on 9 January 1910, when Athletic Club first donned the red-and-whites. That afternoon, at the recently inaugurated Amute ground, in a match against Sporting, our team abandoned its previous blue and white kit to begin its legendary red and white stretch.
To commemorate this occasion, Umbro, in collaboration with Athletic Club, has designed a reversible polo shirt. On one side is the rojiblanca jersey and on the reverse it becomes a black polo with red collar on whose back appear the names of the first starting line-up that wore the red-and-white: Asuero, Amann, Arzuaga, Eguren, Jose Mª Belauste, Villaamil, Luís Hurtado, Sabino Laca, Severino Zuazo, Iceta and Arteche.
The reversible polo shirt, which is made of 100% cotton, will be available in our official stores starting Wednesday, 21 April. Adults sizes range from XS to XXL for a price of (59€ PVP) and the junior reversible polo shirts will fit sizes 12 to 14 (58€ PVP).
