I went to go work with the dog today. It was a lot of fun. They family lives out in a rural area and have a hidden driveway. I ended up accidentally busting out one of my tail lights on a mailbox while turning around on a road while trying to find their house. This is not a good week for my car.
I also bought the 4th Splinter Cell. I bought it used from Gamestop. I really don't like that they buy games from people without the original case or booklet. I want to know what the hell people do with those things- what is so difficult about keeping the booklet inside the case? And what are they doing with the cases/cover art?? Seriously, how do you lose something like that? And some of these discs are scary looking- they're more than just a little scratched- they look like a dog got hold of them or something. What are people doing with their discs?! It's not hard- you put the disc in the console and then put it back in the case when you're done with it. What. The. Fuck. And it pisses me off because the only copy of that game they had in the store was without both the original case and the booklet, and it was the only copy for 360 in all of the stores in the area (fortunately, the disc is in reasonable condition). I really like looking through the booklets. And I like the cover art. How the hell do you lose a game case?!
Beat Assassin's Creed thismorning. I have to say, I was kind of pissed at the ending. Incredibly abrupt and unsatisfactory. They lead you on to think that the game is going to go for just a little longer- and then all of a sudden the credits are rolling. Really not cool. But luckily the 2nd game just came out, which I will be getting later. For now, there is Splinter Cell.
School starts tomorrow. I'm not ready. I think I'm a little burned out. So, even though I was kind of annoyed that I had to wait almost an entire year between the time I graduate and the time I start a grad program, now I think that is probably a good thing. Practically speaking, I'll be able to save some money (esp. if I'm living at my dad's house- I just have to pay for gas and maybe help out with groceries a little bit, and probably my own co-pays and prescriptions, which is more than fair). Not a lot but enough to put down initial money towards tuition that a lot of schools want before the semester begins (like a down payment). I'll have time to build more experience with an inpatient population- I guarantee I can get a job as a tech somewhere. With my experience at Larue Carter (especially an entire year of it; most places want you to have at least a year or two of experience), I know I can get something. But also, being in the working world for a bit will allow me a break from school and I don't doubt that I will probably be wishing for its quick return within a few months- not because I'm lazy and don't like to work but because working bachelor level jobs in psychology (i.e., crappy) is not what I have planned for my life.
As far as I know, my supervisor's current project's deadline is next week, which means we're done with that and she'll be starting her new project soon. Her colleague went back to Germany on Friday and my supervisor will be going to the Netherlands in a couple weeks. Hopefully when she comes back in February, her next project will have been approved by IRB and I will have a small income. Since I have a gaming habit to feed again, this is important. I think I will also take the liberty of getting an iPod Touch- the 64GB. I have a lot of music and I'm always looking for more, and I have a little 4GB Sansa mp3 player right now but it's almost full and I'd like to have something I don't have to worry about running out of room on. It's $365, but the memory is worth it (obviously, the ones with less memory cost less). I think it's a great birthday idea. More gift cards, plz. I thought about just getting an iPhone (costs about the same and does all the stuff the iPod does, plus phone functions), but I don't think it's worth all the money I'd be pouring into it. I don't need the apps, or the GPS capability, or whatever. It's best to get a cheaper phone with a cheaper plan. I might, however, upgrade my phone to something a little newer.
