I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to be for Halloween this year. I have been a variant of grecco-roman godesses and medieval/wench woman for a couple of years now but this year's a toughie. As everyone on my f-list already knows from previous posts, I'm pregnant so I have to factor in the baby belly right now. I've considered wearing my "Athena" costume minus the helmet and shield (she's a virgin goddess and as far as I know doesn't have any offspring) and go for a "mother goddess" look but I really don't want to play to that right now. The other is I have a medieval green dress that I nearly wore as my wedding dress that I guess I could play off of (it looks similar to the
Rowena in this link.) The one piece I cannot use at all this year is my burgundy/black bodice. It requires me to cinch it up and that's going to be a problem with the baby showing.
I'm trying to deicde if I'm going to attempt NanoWriMo this year. I mean, with me being due in a few months afterward and between work, my classes (admittedly only one this year but that was the same way last year and I had to drop Nano because of my goal to do well in it) and my other stories that I've been free-writing for a while I can't be certain I want to do it.
If I do decide to participate, here's the stories I've got percolating:
- A "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" story where the married Lois and Clark find themselves investigating a rise in sexual assaults that they later find out is due to the return of the pheromone compound "Revenge."
- A "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" story that is actually written from an outside persepective. It's my way of looking into the inner-workings of the fourth Season episodes "I Swear to God This Time We're not Kidding" and "Soulmates." It's going to be a bit quasi-religious (as it looks at the angels at work behind the scenes of those stories.)
- A "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" story that begins with a plot-twist of "Pheromone My Lovely" and continues the series from there. How much that changes things is the thing that I'm attempting to figure out and write.
- A post-"Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" story that has three universes playing in the sandbox. One is the original Lois and Clark from that series, the second is an Alt-Clark (that has been met in the season three episode "Tempus, Anyone?" and "Lois and Clarks" from Season four) and the third is an anti-universe to the traditional one (with the addition of the Alt-Lois that is referenced in "Lois and Clarks.") This one's mostly in the plotting stages as there is a lot of kinks (no pun intended) to iron out before I can even consider writing this one to do it justice. There's so much to it that I have a hard time keeping anything straight. At the same time this and the "Return of Revenge" are the two stories that have the potential to be 50,000 words plus.
I really, really wish my Reeveverse muses were being nicer to me but since DC decided to do away with the marriage this version of the pairing has been insistently in the forefront.
