Yesterday I decided that researching and writing a whole 1500-word fic in less than 24 hours was enough of a happy thing to go with for the little informal meme I'm doing this month. Today, I give you a recent example of one of my favorite things, defense pairs being Weird About Each Other

RIGHT? Like, everything about that Christmas video, from skating around with tiny children to Suter awkwardly pretending to fight to get those older kids to smile was basically flawless.

Shea Weber is just so normal and functional, that's not usually something I'm into! He doesn't even seem super dumb like Jordan Staal. He's just so square-jawed and... broad. It was weird getting used to him not having a beard again, because the beard cut down on how square his jaw is, I think. I agree about his smile being sweet and sincere. He seems like someone who's just really comfortable with himself and yes, is kind of the gruff, lead by example type. I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS TIGGER PICTURE! PICTURE PICTURES, PLEASE!!!! (why is it Shea Weber I'm into and not that good American boy, Ryan Suter? :( )

I would kick up my heels forever if they went to the Eastern Conference. I'd be like "YAY!!!" cause they'd be together and they wouldn't be fucking my team's chances to get places. Anything to make the Central less of a fucking slaughterhouse.

I think Shea Weber is probably really comfortable with himself and isn't all that surprised to be making out with Sutes, cause he likes dudes sometimes and it's not like he's never jerked off thinking about him before. Yeah, it's unexpected that he ever did anything about it, but he's cool with it.

Suter is maybe less cool with it. Not because it was bad but because he honestly hadn't thought about having sex with Weber before, or any dude for that matter. And it's not like they really did anything, just made out and touching above the clothes... but he's got beard burn from Weber's stubble and it feels kind of good but he doesn't know what that even means.

I love the idea of Shea being all comfy in his own skin and with that part of himself. He definitely strikes as fairly laid-back and well-adjusted in his off-ice life, the kind of guy who takes things as they come.

Awww, Suter, so Midwestern! So does he try to pretend it didn't happen but then find himself obsessing about it?

Central Division, why so ridiculous? I'd been hoping the Blues would just keep failing to get things together, but no luck, argh. (Though I do harbor a certain fondness for Backes. Things I would totally read: Tazer/Backes pushy hatesex.)
