RPS Batch 2: Featuring Christian Kane
I give in. I've been listening to the two Kane albums nearly non-stop (I especially like Acoustic Live in London) and I can't get his voice out of my head even when the music's not on. I have no idea how I'd feel about the music if I didn't have such a honking big crush on him, but well, I do, so there you go.
Which brings me to recs. Here are 6 RPS fics (or series of fic) featuring Christian Kane. If anyone knows of others they'd be willing to rec, please please do, as there seems to be a woeful dearth of them in general.
All About Sin (or, Why You Should Never Trust a Texan) and Feels Like Heaven (Hurts Like a Bitch) by miss_begonia. NC-17, primarily Jensen/Chris, but with other pairings as well (and a damned hot threesome). (Note: "Feels Like Heaven" can be read without first reading "All About Sin," and is more purely focused on the Jensen/Chris relationship, as "All About Sin" uses Ben Mckenzie as one of its main POV characters.) These are friendslocked, but I advise you to get down on your knees and beg her to let you read them, because they are some of the hottest, most perfect fic I have ever read. Full of pensive, achy angst and lovely warm sex, and engaging detail both amusing and evocative. And the emotional arc is so incredibly satisfying. Absolutely mindblowingly wonderful.
Crazy In Love: A Kane inspired series by woodsbaile_02. A series of Jensen/Chris ficlets based on Kane songs, starting with In the Darkness. All angst and tension at first, then slipping right into totally adorable schmoop (and a little touch of hot in the most recent one, House Rules). These are a little uneven in places, but I really enjoyed them nonetheless. And there may be more! Which fills me with glee.
Forbearance by lissa_bear/Elissa. Chris/Jared/Jensen, NC-17, pure PWP, quite short. As I said to her, so damned hot, it should be illegal (and probably is, in many states). Commanding!Christian is... impressive. *shiver*
Typecast by femmenerd. Jensen Ackles/Eliza Dushku/Christian Kane, NC-17. As completely smoking hot as it sounds like it ought to be, and sweet and warm and fun besides. Fabulous and delightful.
Slow Burn by estrella30. Jensen/Chris/Jared/Chad, NC-17. Yes, all together like that. Languid and pensive and incredibly, amazingly hot. I would try to say more except I'm pretty sure that's my brain in a puddle on the floor over there.
On Shore by redradioflyer. Currently at Part 6 and with a ways still to go, I believe. Jared/Jensen, Jared/Chad, Chris/Sophia, PG-13. Crack based on Aquamarine -- Jared is a merman, following the Little Mermaid plotline. But long, plotty, charming, adorable, totally fucking hilarious crack. This consistently makes me laugh out loud, which is not something that happens often. The primary relationship is definitely Jared/Jensen, with Jensen as the POV character and Chris as his best friend. But Chris is wonderfully snarky and gets lots of screentime, and he and Sophia are quite entertaining. Insane, brilliant fun.
