Well, I'm 26, I filed my dissertation today, and I now have a PhD in Indo-European Studies.
None of my job applications came through, so I'm a lecturer for Classics at UCLA this fall, and after that, who knows. Titled unemployment in January? I'm hoping that having the PhD in hand and being a lecturer will make a difference in the fall. At least I have progressed from not getting interviews to getting interviews to being told yesterday that I was not appointed, but they'll keep my application on file for a year in case something else comes up.
Meanwhile, I'm celebrating with a Europe trip this summer. Woohoo!
