Well, after two years of internal debate over whether it was worth buying a Kindle or not, Amazon finally lowered the price enough that I bought one without fuss this week, just in time for my Europe trip. Does it render PDF files well? The scanned ones?

I just tested it, and it's not much worse than viewing on a computer screen. The text is clear, and you can rotate and enlarge text. You may only get a portion of a page on the screen at a time, but that's the case with laptops as well.

Does it work that way with large scanned PDFs as well? (I mean the compilations of TIFF scans into a book, without OCR, just copies of original pages)
