Hardcore dieting is never good for anyone, but sometimes just eating a bit healthier can do wonders to make you feel better. Being able to pull that off might make you feel slightly better about yourself. Also, maybe going out for a quick walk every day might help you sleep better as well?

As for work, I find lists help. Sure, they're procrastination, but just getting everything you have to do down on paper can help you organise it in your head, even if you don't stick completely to the schedule.

You're not ugly, and even if you suddenly became hideous, we wouldn't care.

Much of this I can identify with, hon, especially the diet-related-punishment thing.

You have nothing to punish yourself for. If you do want to loose weight, do it the sensible way, eat breakfast, drink more-which-not-sugary but don't make it so meals are not a thing to look forward to. Food should be a guarentee of happy, not another source of pain. There are enough of those already!

Try sticking on some easy-listening classical music in bed. Might help with the sleep issues.
