Ick.

Well, I'm ill. I've got cold-y symptoms, and sometimes bringing up blood with phlegm (Ewww, I know. But you're not coughing it up).

Yesterday my college mum and the secretary of Rounders Club fussed over me and dumped medicine on me respectively. Then the lovely President of the JCR lent me her phone to ring NHS direct (No, I do not have a purple rash or any other symptoms of meningitus- I am, however, coughing up blood), then let me wait for about 2hours in her room while we waited for them to ring us back and she made me 3 cups to tea. Mmmmm...tea.
Anyway, she then drove me to the out of hours surgery where I got checked over. Apparently I'm OK, just burst a blood vessel in my throat (JUST?!), but if I start having chest pains or cough up blood on its own, then I'm in trouble.

Anyway, before then I was having great fun!
Friday- Happily Ever After Soc Austen Fest: we watched 'Bride and Prejudice' (how it beat Bridget Jones in the vote, I do not know)- it was fun and had ennuchs in it briefly. But before that we watched 'Sense and Sensibility'! *squee* AWWWWWWWWW!!! So cute! Colonel Brandon is perfect!!! *swoon* And there was an amusing ammount of commentary (partly from me) e.g. an arguement as to whether one of the female characters was a "Conniving Bitch!" or not, and the fact that Mr Wilurby was "A cad and a bounder. A sexy cad, but a cad nonetheless!".

Saturday- Folk Soc:
We tried Rapper properly! Basically you have a team of, in this case, 5 people and we are each holding a sword by its handle, and someone else's by its (wooden) tip (the rest of the sword is metal...and sharp). And you have to weave in and out and make all these amazing shapes while holding on and it is VERY VERY COOL AND FUN!!! (And I picked it up pretty damn fast- I was one of the best of the group! ^_^) It's also funny because we can make stars out of the swords, and the person teaching us had a t-shirt from his team, with an ivy wreath with swords in a pentagram in the middle, and I kept thinking "...Wow. This isn't Pagan at all..."
Then an hour of Morris dancing- we went over the dance we learnt last week, and taught it to the new people who came this week. Then...we went outside, and even though it was dark and cold and raining, we danced the dance on a larger scale, complete with music!!! There was much leaping and charging and yelling (yelling is important in Morris dancing, as it drinking...Which makes sense one you trying Morris dancing).
Then I went back to college to get a toastie (or two) and while I was waiting for them, the person making them asked me why I had a bag of branches. And I replied "I've just come back from Morris dance practise". Her: "...That was not the answer I was expecting". She thought I was making a "rustic Christmas decoration".

So yeah, mixed.

*cough, cough*

P.S. Smiths lyrics for Courtney:

'Hand in glove'
Hand in glove
The sun shines out of our behinds
No, it's not like any other love
This one is different - because it's us

Hand in glove
We can go wherever we please
And everything depends upon
How near you stand to me

And if the people stare
Then the people stare
Oh, i really don't know and i really don't care

Kiss my shades

Hand in glove
The good people laugh
Yes, we may be hidden by rags
But we've something they'll never have

Hand in glove
The sun shines out of our behinds
Yes, we may be hidden by rags
But we've something they'll never have

Awww

music, films, squee, university, durham
