Ok, I finally gave up and googled "towel day". If you, like me, hate to admit that you have no idea what's going on, I can tell you it's a tribute-thingy for Douglas Adams (and now you can say "I already knew that").
This month has indeed been full of fandom-stuff that makes me feel like an outsider. Sith. How Do They Rise. Towel Day.
But, it's less than two months till July 16th.
Because I'm completely paranoid, I don't usually download anything from the internet, but after getting a message from the store I ordered the Haunted album from saying that the estimated delivery time is 2-3 three weeks, I was annoyed enough to break the rules (although not annoyed enough to cancel my order).
And holy shit, she rocks! I didn't really know what to expect (maybe something like PJ Harvey), but the whole album is really original, and yet still mainstream enough to appeal to teenaged girls. I don't know how well it would work without HoL, but after all it's really meant to be the musical companion of the book.
But that doesn't mean that it's all about dark hallways. It's also quite obviously very personal (actually I'm starting to realize HoL is also probably partly autobiographical) . The last track, If You Were Here will break anyone's heart, no matter whether they've read the book or not.
I especially like Spanish Doll and Amazed. Wild goes on a bit too long but most of it is good too. And I could swear I've heard Lemon Meringue before.
My sister's teacher is weird.
I've got I Capture the Castle dvd, yay!
The entrance exam is only a week away.
I'm getting new glasses because my vision is apparently even worse than two years ago.
Ice cream is love.
