[sings so soft as if she'll break]

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to.

Dido: White Flag
[But if I didn't say it/Well I'd still have felt it/Where's the sense in that?]
I heard this on the radio some days ago and remembered that my sister has the cd. I didn't like Roswell but I did like Dido's Here With Me that was used as the theme music, and although this is mostly flavourless pop, Dido does have a beautiful voice. And occasionally good lyrics.
Ed Harcourt: Good Friends Are Hard to Find
[I wish you the most success/More than I could ever have]
From the new album, Beautiful Lie. I haven't yet given it the attention it deserves, but this was an instant favourite. Self-pity is only attractive in songs like this.
Maija Vilkkumaa: Ainakin puolet
[Ja niin mä jäisin ihaniin nurkkiisi luuhaamaan/Kiertäisin kanssas koko huuhaa-maan]
Toisella kuuntelukerralla levyn surullisin kappale. Tässä on intensiteettiä. Esimerkiksi Katu ei kuulosta läheskään yhtä masentuneelta kuin mitä sanoissa lauletaan, mutta tämä suorastaan pursuaa konditionaaleja (kiertäisin).
Tori Amos: Abbey Road
[See how tough I can be/When you're making me smile sweetly]
Snagged from tangerine42 ages ago (thanks!), but forgot all about it for a long time. The mention of sugar cane in the lyrics makes me think of Northern Lad, and actually I should include that one in these 7 songs too since it & Abbey Road have become some sort of companion pieces in my head.
Lovedrug: Spiders
[Love is spiders on the edge/And we're hanging by a thread]
I have no idea what the singer looks like, but he sounds slightly psycho. I love it. And the song's quite catchy.
Regina Spektor: Fidelity
[Suppose I kept on singing love songs/Just to break my own fall]
From the new album, Begin To Hope. Pretty much all of it is amazing.
Regina Spektor: Après Moi
[You can't break that which isn't yours]
First there are pure pop songs such as Fidelity and then Après Moi, with bells and Palsternak quotes in Russian. Like I said, amazing.
