I have a similar fear of spiders. When the spousebeast was gone for his Fantasy Football weekend, I had to kill one of those huge, jumping, hissing spiders that North Carolina is so famous for. *shudder*

I actually broke my "no calls on boys' weekend" rule to tell the spousebeast that I'd whacked little f%$#@% with a broom.

[applause] I hate those things. I daresay I have a phobia of them, and the only times I've killed them were circumstances like you just described, when I had no reasonable choice. Back in the day, my long-term mono girlfriend and I had an agreement that if we saw one of them, she'd kill it, while I'd handle spiders. Fair trade.
