4:17 It's a Terrible Life ( a review in the note of glee )

Holy tax accountant, Batman. This episode fucking rocked. It rocked from the details to the delivery. It was joygasmic in every sense of the word. Did I mention I liked it?

Dean in that striped shirt with the glaringly red tie and suspenders was enough to make my head tilt and that was just the first scene.  His car, the latte, the face he made at the rock music on the radio... it was so well done. He had a little golf green thing all set up in his office. Director of Sales and Marketing, huh? OMG and the close up of Jensen's lips when he was eating his salad.  Guh and also salad.

Can I mention how much I dig that they named them Dean Smith and Sam Wesson...it was just, well, funny.  I loved that Sam had a little vampire bobblehead and looked so freaking ginormous in that tiny cubicle.  I loved the shout outs to Harry Potter and D&D. I loved that Sam's bff at work was basically Dean gone computer geek.

Yeah, and the whole elevator scene with Sam not hitting on Dean. I swear the writers like to fan my porny wincest flames. Overshare is my friend on SPN.  I also kept noticing Sam and Dean's eyes. Maybe it was cuz the color was turned up to eleven, but Dean's eyes looked oh so green. Sam's almost matched 'em. Are his eyes green or blue? I was swinging between colors. Hey, I swing both ways with Sam and Dean, too. Can't choose just one.

It was so groovy when Dean and Sam were both investigating the death of the man who blew his head open with a fucking microwave and I kept seeing The Usual Suspects  research montage in my head. Sam's dreams were awesome. Lotsa the boys being badasses. Ya know, cuz they are.

Dean is just as bossy in AU land as he is in SPN land. His voice when he told Sam to get up to his office was so Dean as the big brother. That made me happy for reasons I can't explain.

The dude offing himself in the bathroom was just disturbing. I'm glad I have no desire to steal office supplies, though I did keep expecting Dean to do something besides kneel there. I wanted some sort of definitive action in the sense of applied pressure or a call to 911 on that blackberry he was so profficient at texting on.  I am a lousy texter so I just don't. I abstain for the sake of my friends.

The scene where Dean basically says ' I am living the life that Sam used to think he wanted' was kinda heartbreaking. I did like the mentions of Bob, Ellen, and little sis Jo. Madison and the animal hospital was darned clever, too, but the way Dean reacted and the way Sam reacted were so telling.

I kept thinking all thru the ep that it was like they had forgotten all about season 3 and all of this season. Like they were bringing it back to what is the heart of SPN. Two brothers hunting things and saving lives. I was so happy when Sam ( yeah, don't call him Sammy ) said that it felt like they were brothers, that he wanted to be in those shitty motels with Dean. That he wanted to help people. So many people have focused on Sam's darkside, that it was a good reminder that he really does want to do right. He just makes odd choices on the road to doh! sometimes.  I forget that sometimes, too.

Dean's statement about destiny and not believing in it. He's been saying that since season one, and he even says it when he's gone corporate and cleansing his body with something that looked eerily like urine. Sam's declaration that destiny was in his blood was sorta chilling and possibly overshadowing, but.... sigh.

The angel, uh, I'll call him Zac cuz I can spell that, was the cat's pajamas. He was way funnier than Uriel. I loved that the color snapped back after he touched Dean, and just the way he talked to Dean. He spoke to him in a way that Dean would respect. His view of Dean seems very accurate and utterly nonjudgemental. He even said Daddy Issues. That struck me as funny. He told Dean to stand. That he is strong. That he believes in him and in the end results. He said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. I sorta loved that about him. I wish he would talk to Sam. He needs someone to be that honest and kind to him, too.

In perspective:

Sam is not good at hitting on strange men he dreams about and needs to work on his pick up lines.

The Ghostfacers were there long enuf to be hilarious without taking anything away from the episode.

Salt is like a bad trip for ghosts.

This episode had oodles of continuity. ( yes, I did just say oodles and I don't know why )

I wish Zac was my boss, too.

Blood must have been on sale cheap at Costco when they were making this episode.

Bob and Ellen have two lovely children and Jo is Dean's sister. I laugh. Ha ha ha.

All those fan girls that complain about Dean whining can shut up now.

Sam wants to eat diner food and share hotels with Dean.  He wants to be with Dean. It makes me wibble.

Zac thinks a cool classic car and fornicating with women is an acceptible lifestyle. These are not my mom's angels.

Fair well, young lions.
