One of my favorite new bands from the last few years are these guys, The Script, and this is among my favorites off of their new album. I read a review that said that their lyrics tend to be about deeper stuff than a lot of pop music out there, and one thing I've noticed is that they really get heartbreak and desperation, both of which are really evident in this one.

Pop Another thing I find interesting is that several of their songs (especially "For the First Time") have to do with economically hard times, and considering they're from Ireland I wonder if it's a cultural thing (I actually found an interview where they said that they specifically wrote one song about the recession). I also remember thinking that they sound a bit like The Police, and probably have some of the same influences.
They're also a band I like because you can hear how they improved between their first and second albums, and I love to hear a group's sound evolve.
