Well, here's a surprising turn of events...

I am no longer employed.  No benefits forthcoming.  Just no longer employed.

I feel strangely buoyant.  Perhaps this is shock or perhaps this is relief.  I really can't tell.

Not too crappy {I think} and you are multilinguial, right? That is key here for a lot of jobs. And for once here the rental market is pretty good too. I mean, for finding a house or apartment. I know my crazy cat lady has at least two small houses emtpy right now.

These are good things to know. I sure am multi..well BI lingual anyway. Spanish and English. Unless you want to count gang slang, in which case trilingual.

It's my deepest worry, my cats. I am so afraid that I won't be able to take good care of them or that I will lose them. No. No I didn't even say that last bit. I have hand-raised everyone but Old Olivia. I will not part with my children. No Sophie's Choice here at 321.

Ennaway...before I scare the crap out of myself. Thanks again for the ideas and the links. I am not at all opposed to moving if it comes down to this.

Thank you for the reassurances. This is the only thought that truly terrifies me. Even the idea of losing myself as I am now frightens me less than the thought of losing my children.

And Kevin wanted me to say that the Tri-Cities {Kennewick, Richland and Pasco} are great for job openings, and the weather there is more like what you are used to. And that's only a couple of hours from here, and one of our favorite spots to visit.
