This week in children's lit, we are reading controversial books. This is the list of most banned books in the past ten years. The ones that I've read are in bold.

wow, that is a lot of banned books, many of which are stupid. Just for fun, here are ones I've read ( ... )

I meant that it was stupid that they were banned, btw, not that the books were stupid.

I find it odd that most of the books are banned for the following reasons - sex, depictions of racial tensions, and challenging authority. There seem to be no books banned explicitly for violence. If there is violence involved, the challenge to parental/conventional authority seems to be the primary reason for its placement on the list (Lord of the Flies ( ... )
