rebellion and my birthday
Yesterday in the DI, Billy Joe Mills wrote this article about rebellion. Basically what he is saying is that the college students who try to be all "rebellious" are actually conforming to the norm, and those who don't drink and actually pursue intellectual pursuit are the true rebels. So I guess I am a rebel.
For my birthday, I am going to have a little party tomorrow with 50 or so of my closest friends. My roommate made me a cake, and my mom is going to send me cookies that I accidently left at home, and I will buy ice cream at late night. Despite the fact that this is my 21st birthday I have decided not to celebrate by drinking, but rather by eating cake and ice cream with friends.
Paula's boyfriend Brandon informed Adam and I that if you do not throw up on your 21st birthday, your friends did not do a good job. Well, I am not going to throw up on my 21st birthday, thank you very much Brandon. I am going to celebrate my birthday the way I want to celebrate it. I haven't thrown up in over 10 years, and I don't plan on starting today.
