I'm currently eating the best California Maki i've ever had and that's saying something since I've had a lot of them. But... I'm thinking about how the fish eggs look like the ones from Finding Nemo, and I'm wondering if I'm eating Nemo. Damn.
So the city is still good to me. Yesterday, Gary wanted to go down to his beach house in NJ (yea awesome right??? grr) so I had the day off. Went to the Guggenheim (which I haven't been to since I was probably 8 or 9) and the MoMA. I was just so impressed by the Guggenheim. They have a free audio guide that was really really awesome. Very informative. It was like being in my awesome art history class from last semester. The MoMA was pretty good too, but I didnt have as much time there -- only an hour and 15 min compared to the 3+ hours I spent at the Guggenheim. By the time I got up to the levels that I then realized were the ones I was more interested in, I only had 20 minutes to run around and see everything. It was awesome to see stuff by artists that Gary represents. I've actually been in contact with stuff by these guys, like Lautrec, Warhol, Picasso, Lichtenstein, Wesselman. Its just so cool.
Then, at night I went to see RENT (by myself yes I know). It was reallllylylylyly good. Way better than the movie (obviously!). I liked the movie OK because the story is just so damn good, but the actors on broadway were just a million times better. I want the original broadway soundtrack really bad but I am just too cheap to spend 20 bucks on it. And UGH I was just trying so hard not to cry in the middle of the theater! The woman who was playing Mimi was from the first season of American Idol (Tamyra Gray). I didn't watch the show back then, but I looked her up on Youtube and damn she was pretty good! :-p
PS Devin and Dana... If you feel like it, watch this:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7wN4wGxPvpw and watch at the end, when Ryan says what he says OH my god I died laughing. (it's gettin hot in HEYAH! and... Where the 'hose' at? oh my god)
anyways.. going home tonight. sweet.
