Akin's Laws of Spacecraft Design

Mostly for my own reference:

Akin's Laws of Spacecraft Design

While Dr. Akin is an aerospace engineer, most if not all of these Laws apply to systems design in general.

normanrafferty should take particular note of the following:

14. (Edison's Law) "Better" is the enemy of "good".

Snagged from theweaselking, whom I forgot to credit when I first posted this.

I admit I stopped reading after the first one, hehe. My continuing evolution to reject Platonic forms has reached the point I find it a little absurd the idea that math isn't an opinion. ;)

...which is really strange to hear after your recent screed about how every school of economics is worthless because they all ignore physical laws.

I'm not joking when I say that the one has nothing to do with the other. It's not that I reject the utility of mathematics but I reject the idea that mathematical analysis reveals some deeper truth than an opinion formed by non-mathematical reasoning (and the associated fallacy that mathematics represents an objective reality).

Philosophically, I respect the sophistication of your stand. Pragmatically, please pardon me if I opt not to travel in any spacecraft of your design.

Since I am not in the spaceship design business, there's little chance of you getting into a ship made by me. I have a friend who is and, quite frankly, I'm not sure I'd get into any spaceship considering how political her office is. ;)
