hey
I've been an atheist for 3 years. I grew up in a Roman Catholic/Episcopalian but not overly religious household. I did, however, go to a purely fanatical Christian school for 4 years. I'm out now (yes!) but one day I came to the conclusion that there is no stability in our lives, so humans came up with the idea of religion to depend on something. that is the only reason why people believe and I know that there is nothing higher. no higher deity, no heaven, no hell, only here. and it should stay that way. i'd much rather be an atheist than be part of a system that kills millions of people in the name of religion.
