I've taken it as an assumption all my life that consciousness, and particular qualia, are a result of the complex interactions of the neurones in our brains. I haven't found anything in neurology or philosophy that makes me doubt it... but, you lot can help me with my second assumption!
I've also always assumed that us atheists take a naturalist view on the universe, but does anyone hold any objections to the premise that consciousness is bourne of complex neural nets?
