There is such a deadening lack diversity in nature in Dallas. Maybe I am spoiled, because I spent my childhood in California. I grew up chasing more butterflies than I could name, in a neighborhood with food growing in everyone's yard. Avocados, berries, apricots.. they all seemed so abundant. I body surfed with dolphins in the ocean.. We had whale ( Read more... )

Unfortunately the Dallas area is kinda like finding diversity in wild life in say... Los Angeles.

But it's there-- just gotta go out and find it. Go more rurally. Gotta hunt it down.

Lessee in Texas I've seen (course this is with much travel)... coyotes... lots of coyotes. Tons of bunnies. Tons of squirrels. Tons of hawks and owls. Vultures... lots of vultures... everywhere. A fox or two. Lots of snakes.

Did I mention vultures? I've yet to see a bobcat or gator though. Pigeons of course in plenty-- I often think that's why there's so many hawks and owls. Bats in Austin. Crabs and crawdads in Corpus Christi and Houston. Tons of turtles. All that wildlife in Sea World. heh.

What else could you ask for? *ducks!!!*

oh, c'mon, of course there isn't alot of wildlife in the city.. I lived in Cally for a bit, San Pedro to be exact, and you had to drive to the ocean to see anything, it was just another city with the exception of the laid back atmosphere(in that ares it seemed to be all angry hippies, heh, just my xp tho) Just go out of Dallas, there are coyotes, bobcats, bats, gators, vultures, hawks.. You get the pic. hehehee
