I wrote them because people had asked me to. Some asked for specific scenes, and if I saw an amusing twist to one, I went for it. I wrote them mostly while I was in Vidanric's head anyway, as I wrote A Stranger to Command. Because it was fun for me, some of the ones I included hearken back to his early experiences.

I don't see any utility in writing more about what happened then, as it seems it would just be repetitive; Vidanric and Mel both will be visited in the upcoming series, and we see him as an experienced king, in the middle of action, with little kids to worry about. It takes place about ten years after.

Some of those extras were alot of fun to read and I can really sense you had fun writing them. I was literally swelling up with glee and laughter reading through the candlestick, wager, and Russav scenes. It was so amusing to see how Vidanric had to mentally strategize in every dealing with Mel. No matter how much he carefully laid out his actions in his mind, she always surprised him by her reaction ( ... )

As frustrating as it is at times that so much is still to be published, I do relish the idea of there always being just one more book to come!

I don't remember hearing Ship Without Sails mentioned (I am only on sporadically) so very excited!!!

There are actually eight or nine books to come. The publisher is slow, alas!
