Characters
So I was sitting here working on my seemingly endless summer reading when I realized how evil one of the characters is. I then mentioned this to one of the other girls who is taking the same class this year and we ended up having a half-hour long rant about how we can't stand the character because of her evilness. This eventually turned into a comparison to random characters from other books that we completely hate.
Anyone here have similar reading experiences and find characters that you just love to hate? Or the other side where the character is supposed to be evil, but you'll never believe it because he/she is obviously just misunderstood or something of that sort?
So yeah. What characters do you love to hate or does everyone else hate you for loving?

For me I'd have to say Kate/Cathy/Catherine from East of Eden (who is the one who started this apparently endless rant among my friends).
And for the second category, I'd have to go with Erik from Phantom of the Opera.
