First Glimpses

Speedy

He was on patrol that night when he saw a naked boy suddenly appear on the street. But in a blink of an eye, the apparition was gone.

It was already late. Maybe it was time to sleep. Green Arrow had been nagging him to do so for hours anyway.

Clark Kent

He whipped his head around as he felt someone sneak up behind him. There was no one there. It might just have been his imagination. He wasn't able to sleep last because of League business after all. He continued his way to work, passing by an elderly couple that reminded him of his parents and a thin red haired boy who wore clothes a bit too big for him.

He only discovered that his wallet was missing when he was about to pay his and Lois's lunch.

Perry White

He hated beggars. That was his thought as he stared down at the red haired man passed out face down on the street. He was on his way home and the unconscious man was blocking his way.

Even after he shouted at him to wake up, the man didn't stir. Was he dead? He begrudgingly turn him around to check.

He felt pity twist in his heart when he saw his face. He was just a boy - no older than twelve. How did he got here?

He was about to call the police and social services for help when he saw the boy twitch then suddenly vanished. He was now alone in the street.

He never told anyone about that incident.

Lois Lane

She saw the boy staring at the LexCorp building. What was he doing here? This was no place for someone like him.

She must have given him a fright when she approached him. The kid was about to run when she gave him her warmest smile.

"Who are you?" she asked. "What are you doing here?"

He gave no answer. He just stared at her. His green eyes were sad and confused but she could see a hint of hope.

She was about to spoke to him again when her escort arrived. She briefly addressed the man but when she looked back at the boy, he was already gone.

Bruce Wayne

As the news spread of Lex Luthor finding his lost girlfriend and discovering that he had a son, he became highly suspicious.

There was something wrong with it. It might seem as a tearful family reunion that moved the public's hearts but he knew better. Nothing is what it always seems when it comes to Luthor.

He looked at their photos in the newspaper. They seemed to be a picture perfect family - all smiles and happiness. But the expression of both Lex and his "ex-girlfriend" now "fiancee" looked practiced. It was too perfect to be believable. For him, young Alex Luthor was the only one that looked genuinely happy.

He frowned. Would Luthor stoop so low as to use a ruse like this? Yes, he would and he wouldn't hesitate to use innocent people along the way. Even children.

Could he help Alex?

Dick Grayson

He couldn't understand why Bruce brought him here to play date. There seemed to be nothing out of ordinary with Alex.

While their fathers conducted a meeting in Luthor's office, they were left alone to hang-out together. They had a very shaky start. Alex looked shy and nervous. He seemed to be really wary of him too.

He was only able to break the ice when he got into a hot debate with him: which is better, Luthor tech or Wayne tech? It was the most funny and stimulating conversation he ever had with a fellow teenager. After that, Alex whisked him away to a room his father set up just for him - a recreational room full of video games, comics, books, snacks and anything the red head's heart desires. Apparently, Lex wanted to spent time with his son as much as possible to make up for lost time. So Alex always hangs out in the company building to watch his father work.

He felt a bit jealous with Alex. Why does Bruce never do that to him?

Artemis Crock

She caught a glimpse of the show and instantly tuned in.

It was like a story out of a book. Their family was torn apart, then they found each other again, and everything was getting their happy ending.

She watched with longing and jealousy as the interview ended in the most heartwarming way possible - Lex Luthor and Lana Lang holding hands with their eyes looking lovingly with each other and their son, Alex, tackling the two of them in a hug while laughing.

She wished her family had that happy ending too.

Red Arrow

He frowned as he willingly played guard for Luthor. He still couldn't believe that the man was the arbitrator the Rhelasians chose.

He was about to turn to a corner when he met face-to-face with Luthor's son - Alex. The red head was practically the man's shadow. Wherever Lex goes, his son was with him. Dick said because it was "to make up for lost time." The two of them didn't believe it. Something was wrong.

"Oh, sorry." Alex told him as he stepped aside to make way for him.

His frown became deeper. Was it just him or had he seen Alex before, a long long time ago in Star City? No. It was impossible. It must be because he just saw him on TV.

Iris West-Allen

Her hear skipped a bit as the camera panned into Alex Luthor. He looked so much like her nephew, Wally. Had Wally still been alive, he would... he would...

She turned the TV off as she felt the tears forming in her eyes.

Barry Allen

He was worried for his wife. She was suddenly melancholic - pained smiles and faraway looks. He always asks her why but she always says that it was nothing. That she was just tired.

One day, he saw a magazine with the Luthor family on the cover in their living room.

He had doubts about their story but he was willing to believe it. Luthor wouldn't stoop so low as to use this as a ruse. No one could be that heartless and evil. Batman was just paranoid.

He then looked at the picture of Alex Luthor. He suddenly understood Iris's pain. Red hair, green eyes, and that smile.

He found his wife at the kitchen cooking dinner. He hugged her from behind.

"I miss him too." he whispered to her as he cried.

Batman

Was he too late? Were they too late?

Those were his thoughts as Alex fought them all to protect his father.

Are we too late?

Flash

The boy looked so much like their "dead" nephew.

No.

He is their "dead" nephew.

Please, let me save him.

Let me be not too late.
