For all parents/future parents
This is not a hoax, so don't bother running and checking Snopes.
For everyone who uses Snopes to verify stories, this is legit - my aunt got the news while I was on the phone with her this afternoon. One of my cousin's classmates accidentally killed himself this afternoon while playing what is known as "The Choking Game."
According to my hubby this has been around for a couple years at least: Kids are putting belts around their necks and choking themselves, untying the belt in enough time to just get a high. Sadly, this young man was not able to untie the belt in time to save himself. All because he wanted to get high. All because he was angry at his father.
Please pass this on to anyone you know who has a child. Parents need to know this is happening and address it with their children (provided the children are old enough to at least semi-comprehend this).
I shudder to think what the new "fad" will be when my son is a teenager.
