x86 complaints

The x86 platform, and all the hardware associated with it, is severely and depressingly rotten. When it was first put into service twenty years ago it was a good system, but I'm getting pretty sick of the continued desire to keep computers in the eighties.

I was just thinking this while coming to that annoying realization that I can't install two video cards at once, even in a relatively recent PC. This was something I could do in Macs that ran System 7. I need SLI or have to rely on the video card having two ports. WHAT IF I WANT 4 MONITORS

I am unsure what the root cause is. Laziness, incompetance, or greed...

And I don't care what people say, I like the Dell clamshells. :)
