"5:20 AM and traffic is stopped on I270 South in Frederick,MD at the MD85 exit."
That was us getting rearended in our Van Pool Ford E350.
I wasn't driving. I drove Tuesday.
A 22 year old in his boss's pickup hit us really hard. Twice, in fact.
I took all the info. Reported the incident to VPSI (the leasing company). Then I went down to the health unit in our building. The Nurse took my blood pressure (which was really high - like 187 over 130, I'm normally 120 over 80 since I quit smoking). They called an ambulance and hauled me off on a back board.
I spent 3 hours (or so it seemed) tied up in desperate need of taking a leak. Then they let me loose in this inner city hospital and said "you look alright, why are you here?" Grr. . My BP was fine, my neck and back are a little sore from the whiplash, but not too bad. Then I had to wait around for my "buddy" Pamela, who came in the same ambulance. She got lots of xrays and such.
Pam's ok for a 57 year old who's husband killed himself a month ago..... a sad story about drugs.
We've been van friends for a couple of years since we were the only ones on the van working at USDA.
So I'm home reading friend's LJ's and wondering when I should go back to work. I was supposed to drive 300 or so miles down to Virginia for a meeting tomorrow. I cancelled it.
And Monday I'm supposed to fly to Atlanta for the week! Man, I just don't know. Too much happening.
