One of the problems of constantly catering to idiots in your demagoguery is that they think their opinions are relevant. Newsflash: if you're completely uninformed, your ideas on what's going on and what should happen are probably BAD. Repeat: BAD.
Anyone who uses "ordinary people" to talk up an opinion should be shot. Ordinary people are ignorant and stupid. That's what makes them ordinary. Their values can be represented - but their interpretation of the current state of the country, not so much.
