ok, so I was watching television today, and I was wow...there's a lot of shit on now a days. I was actually enjoying myself. and then I realize, hey, I'm watching reruns. I was having a trip watching Step by Step, Boy meets world, Family matters, etc. Then I got to thinking about great shows like daria. And I was like what happened to M...T....V. Shouldn't it stand for like music television? I mean, I realize to have a channel totally devoted to music is silly. But the channel is clearly targeted to a youth audience, so it's ok to show things that deal with our life, right? Enter things like the real world, which a lot of people claim to be the start of reality television as we know it. I don't believe that garbage. It may have been the start of reality television, but it's reality television as it was meant to be. I think the horrendous reality television that we see now with ridiculous contests and beautifully fake women is shit. Sheer crap. and, in my opinion, it started with survivor. Think about it, survivor may have actually made sense, somewhat, testing people's physical endurance? ok, fine, whatever. But subsequent shows measured people's ability to date ugly guys and run multi million corporations. Whatever. So, back to MTV, they're doing shows like Next. What is that crap? it ranks way up there with shows such as my big fat fake wedding and taildating. It's totally staged, and what's worse, people can't act. call me crazy, but the folks at mtv and getting cooky. To think that I would be so amused at the idea of people told to insult eachother while talking smack. No, no, MTV, you have your audience mixed, the fools who actually watch that crap are busy hanging out with elvis and tupac over at gullible beach. Give me a break. Jackasses. And don't get me started on TRL! What happened to the days when they actually, oh I don't know, played the videos? what the hell are they doing there now? and what happened to carson daly? He was the only decent host on there, and then all these kids came in to "substitute" for him and he never came back. Well that was a good trade off, carson. Look at where your career is now! Whatever, enough ranting about silly mtv. I'm going to go watch VH1...excuse me...
