Summary: It's about time we had another party.
Victoria Day seemed to be about the birthday of some dead queen, but, hey, if the Canadians wanted to celebrate it, John was cool with that. As long as there was beer, hot dogs, and people having fun, he was happy to have an excuse to celebrate.

So he'd fired up the grill (Victoria Day was like Memorial Day, right? That made it time to bring out the summer stuff), brought home enough refreshments to satisfy even McKay, and put the word out. Anyone was welcome, but he was relying on word of mouth to bring them to him.
Winter was over, warm days were upon them, and John was really looking forward to re-connecting with people and finding out what they'd been up to, holed up by the snow and cold for so long.
