Location: About town
Characters: R. Psmith, Philip Marlowe, Man on the Street.
Rating: G, I suppose. The street is, by definition, a general audience.
Status: Open to all comers.
Summary: Marlowe and Psmith look for work on the way to the shooting range.

Marlowe locked up the office, leaving the cat in charge. He and his aide de camp each carried a briefcase, but there were no papers inside. Marlowe made a mental note to have Psmith look into getting them a pair of those newfangled messenger bags, as each briefcase, filled with .45 ammunition, weighed twenty pounds. Nine kilograms, he corrected himself, still getting used to the metric system. A stone and seven in Psmith's even more archaic system of measures.

Lady Luck had wedged his coin between floorboards, giving a half-and-half approach to going out for target practice and looking for gainful employment. It was a nice day, and between them they'd downed half a bottle of gin, so Marlowe decided to walk down Main rather than drive. It was easier to talk to people that way, too. And he still didn't trust Psmith with his car even when sober.
