Oz's eyebrows lifted in surprise. He'd given Lorelai his phone number but hadn't gotten hers in return so when the unknown number showed up on his cell phone, he hadn't known what to expect.
"Well I don't know... This is Lorelai, right? Not some crafty thief attempting to lure me into a life of crime?" He stood up from where he'd been sitting meditating on the floor of his own apartment and headed for his bedroom.
"Clyde is too cool a name to pass up. Much better than Oz. I'll be there in a minute." Oz hung up his cell phone and pulled on a maroon t-shirt with the Dr. Pepper insigna on it. He grabbed his coat and was out of the door in a matter of minutes.
Lorelai was still smiling when she put her phone back in her coat pocket. She rested her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands as she waited for Oz to get there.
Oz started up the walkway to Lorelai's house, his hands shoved in his coat pocket. He gave her a small nod in greeting. "Hey, I hear there's crime to be done here."
"There is," Lorelai said as she got to her feet. "I can't find my house keys. I thought I put them on my car keys but no. The house is locked up and Paul Anka is in there."
Oz nodded and looked to the front door along the crack in between the door and the frame. He went to the window next to it and inspected it too to try to decide which would be easiest.
Finally he pulled out a bank card and slid it between the window and the window frame. He jiggled it a bit, starkly reminded of a time Willow had locked herself out of her room and he's had to do the same thing. After several moments, the latch came free and he swung the window open. He crawled inside and went to unlock the front door and open it.
"I'm good at crime sometimes." He said jokingly, although his features remained stoic.
Lorelai grinned. "Yes, Clyde you are. Thank you," she said as she picked up the bag of groceries she'd bought eariler. "I was going to call you anyway, see if you wanted to celebrate with me. I bought that big old house on Main Street. I'm going to turn it into an Inn," she told him as she stepped inside.
Paul Anka greeted her with a soft woof. She automatically reached out one hand to pet him before he moved over to say hello to Oz.
"Good thing he's not a killer psycho dog. My life could have been in peril." Oz quipped, following behind Lorelai into the house. "And hey, congrats. Inn-ly goodness, I'm sure."
Lorelai set the grocery bag on the counter and slipped her coat off. She dug in the bag and pulled out the bottle of champagne. "I have bubbly stuff, cheap but bubbly and I got twinkies," she grinned as she fished the box out of the bag.
"So you're in, Clyde? For the celebrating?" Lorelai asked as she sat down in the kitchen chair and slipped her knee high boots off. She reached up and pulled the pins out of her hair, letting it fall around her shoulders.
Lorelai laughed and stood up. "Let me go change then we'll start the celebrating," she said as she walked through the living toward her bedroom. She ducked in her bedroom and then peeked out through the half open door. "Make sure we don't get shot up while my back is turned," she winked at him.

She came out of the bedroom and grabbed two wine glasses and the bottle of champagne. She carried it into the living room.
"Wanna open the bubbly," she asked holding the bottle out to Oz.
