Fishing. They said it was good in Ontario, and that was worth something to Denny Crane. Nimmo Bay was off the books for now because the salmon were suffering a bad case of Klingons. Besides, October wasn't salmon season.

Denny had allowed Alan to coax him into another annual checkup, and his doctor, in turn, to convince him that it was time for a vacation. Fresh air, relaxation, quality time in the Great Outdoors: it was good for the Mad Cow. Unfortunately, Alan was trying a long (and boring) case, so Denny had had to travel alone.

Fortunately, it had still been possible to book a charter to Toronto from Boston, and a chopper service to the town. Denny watched out the side as the browning woods went by below. He imagined the fat deer moving through the dry foliage, red and gold leaves barely crackling under their delicate steps. Hunting was good too. It wasn't as good as long sex with a beautiful woman after a hard day at court--or was it the other way around?--but hunting and fishing: Denny Crane could do that for a while.

As the helicopter descended and the town grew larger in Denny's vision, he leaned over to watch debris blow away, clearing the way for his introductory scene.
