Drinks and a talk

Sep 23, 2008 15:50

Who: Jack and the Doctor
When: Tuesday Sept. 23, 7:00
Where: The Jazz Club
Rating: PG
Status: Closed/Incomplete

Jack had made no secret of the fact that he had been avoiding the Doctor for the past few weeks. With the arrival of the Master, Jack had felt uncomfortable within the walls of the TARDIS. The brief encounters had brought back memories of a year that never was. He couldn't forgive the Master for what he had done to him. In a way, he could understand why the Doctor kept the man around. They were the last of their kind. The last of the Time Lords. Jack's own family was gone. His parents long dead and Gray frozen back in Cardiff.

Ever since taking the job at the Jazz Club, business had been booming for them. Jack Harkness was very good for business.  He mingled with the guests, made them feel welcome and at home. He flirted and danced and laughed. Here, he was more relaxed than he had ever been before.

But tonight things had to be cleared up. Reluctantly, he pulled himself away from the stage and went to the bar. He claimed a bottle of scotch and two glasses and paid for it, heading to the booth he had reserved for himself and the Doctor. It gave them a bit of privacy and they would be able to talk without having to yell over the music. Taking a breath, he filled the glasses and waited.
